Chapter 1

Hello, I'm Kira Kuro. Yes, my purple hair is real. Not from the bottle- Oh, yeah, my skin. It's real too, I was adopted. Anyway, if you didn't know, my name means Killer in Japanese. Weird, right?! Well, I'm no killer. Anyway, my parents are not currently living here, they live in, well, Japan! Yeah, and I live here, in this little town in Oklahoma. Anyway, this is my legacy, and I hope you enjoy all my tears, laughter, future kids, husband (hopefully,) and more!
I walk into the old house, the floors creaking under my feet. The first few things that hit me when I walked in were:
1. The horrible decor, and furnishing.
2. The wallpaper
3. The horrible smell.
"God, it smells like dead cat in here!" I mutter, getting ready to squeeze my nostrils shut, to block out that awful smell.
"Eh, a little Febreeze will help...." I say out loud. "I ought to get a job- Wait?! Who am I even talking to?!" Man I must be going crazy, right. I get up, and sigh, then walk out of my door. At first I started walking, I was going to go to the salon. I had heard that they were hiring, so, might as well give it a shot. I lived here once before, with my grandparents, this is their house I'm living in. I went to school for a year, then went back to live with my parents. I was in 6th grade, and that year is so fuzzy to me.
I started running, so I'd get there faster, I had no car, or bicycle, yet anyway. I'm too poor! My parents told me they wouldn't give me any money, because I had to learn what it's like to be an adult, I am only 19.I just graduated, top of the class. Always got A's, I think it's cause of my deformity, from being purple! Or am I an alien? Goodness, let's not talk about that.
I wipe the sweat from my forehead, once I arrive. Straighten my clothing, and walk in. The smell erupted over me, of too much perfume, and Axe. God, Axe. I was soon greeted by an elder black woman, who looked like she was wearing her granddaughters clothes, or at least hat.
"Hello, how are you? Are you interested in a job?" The woman said to me, holding her hand out for a handshake. "Yes! In fact I am, I-" I started, soon getting cut off. "Oh thank God! It's been so hard to find decent workers. You look, er, presentable!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't even expecting to get a job today, so I- Do you want me to come back for a more formal interview?" I ask her, as she slightly rolls her eyes at me, annoyed by me. "No, no, this is fine, I just need more workers. As long as you do good work, and I'm sure you will."
"Yes, I am very dedicated to working, I've had several jobs before, and I love work."
"Good, good, so what do you think about starting work on Tuesday, is that good?" "Of course, I'm still settling in, so that is very good for me! Well, I have to go now, you know, errands, so thank you for the job, and goodbye." I said smiling at her, as she said goodbye, and waved me off.
I walk out of the salon, thankful that I had gotten the job, I always had loved working, I always had something to do as a child, piano, art, work as a bagging boy, or girl, but they call 'em bagging boys. I decide I should go to the pool, I remembered where the pool was, luckily, I guess.
I walk through the gates to the pool, and sitting area, and sat down on one of the benches. I look out at the clear water of the pool, I had always loved pool water, water in general actually. Sighing I shut my eyes, and hear footsteps nearing me.
"Well I can't believe it! Kira Kuro!" A male says, as I jump up. "Um, who are you?" I ask confused. "How do you not remember me? The biggest dork in the 6th grade? We were best friends?"
"Don't you remember?! You're what, 19? What happen, did you get in an accident? Or?" He asks, using hand motions to express some of his frustration.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but that year is real fuzzy to me, so, I don't remember much, but, uh, I really don't remember you?" I said, smiling at him.
"Well, ha, you sure have grown up," He said grinning ear to ear. "Oh, yeah! Well, everyone grows up, I mean, I have physically, but not really mentally," I said with a laugh.
"You know what, you would be great for an art piece," He whispered. "Oh really?" I asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow. "How do you figure?"
"I'm just kidding! I can't paint worth a shit! I just wanted to check you out," He said, roaring with laughter. "Oh, God," I said chuckling, "You sure are a funny one, aren't you?" "I try, at least."
After we quit laughing, we just looked at each other for a while. A few memories struck me for a moment, but I still didn't remember the man. I did have the feeling that we were good friends at a time though.
"Well," I finally said, breaking the thin ice we were standing on, "Wanna hangout?" "Sure, I was actually gonna ask you if you... Wanted to go out on a-a... Date, but, you don't really remember me so I wasn't real sure..." "That sounds fun! To be honest, you'll be my first date," I say, whispering the last part, butterflies swarmed through my stomach, and my face started getting hot. "O-oh, okay. Well, sounds like fun, right?"
"Of course! Sounds like a blast, but I must warn you, I don't have a car, and some foods give me horrible gas," I said, keeping a straight face. "That's something new to hear, alright then, well, let's get going, eh?" "Yeah, let's go."
"You really know how to give a girl a fun night, don't you?" I whisper to him, breathless. He took me to the movies, to a nice diner, and we stargazed until ten. My first date was every girls dream. But my standards are different from others, so at least my dream. "Heh, I just guess I have a special touch with the ladies, eh?" "I guess so," I whisper, before giving him a peck on the lips, which soon became a more passionate kiss. "Well, I oughta get in and go to bed... Wanna stay the night?" I ask him, grinning ear to ear. "Sure, but I usually don't, you know, on the first dat-" "No, no! Nothing like that, it's just a long drive from my house to yours..."

First chapters are always awful, yes I know. But I'll assure you, it'll slowly get better. I hate first chapters! But we all must start somewhere.
